Molly Murphy is the Founder of Murphy Music of Nevada. Ms.Murphy has been teaching private lessons for Oboe, Violin and Viola for over 40 years. She is a second generation native of Nevada and a product of the Clark County School District.
Murphy attended Wichita State University in Kansas and earned her Bachelor of Music Performance in Viola and Oboe. She performed extensively including several concerts with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
Following college, Molly was a member of the Corpus Christi Symphony. She also participated in a master class with Lillian Fuchs. When in California, she performed with an orchestra under the baton of Melia Mehta.
Murphy was an advocate of public radio and worked for stations in Wichita KS, Corpus Christi TX, Norman OK and Las Vegas. In Norman, she was the Music Director at KGOU Public Radio.
In Las Vegas, Molly has performed with many organizations. For 15 years she was the Executive Director and Principal Oboe of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she participated in several classes with the League of American Orchestras.
Murphy worked for the Clark County School District for approximately 25 years in a variety of capacities as a Para-Professional orchestra teacher, a registrar and an Instructional Assistant for several colleagues in band and orchestra.
Currently Molly teaches at Kessler and Sons Music at the Green Valley and the West store. She teaches Violin, Viola and Oboe. Teaching private lessons is a passion for Molly and she thoroughly enjoys her students.
Molly has 3 children and several grandchildren, and they are the joy of her life. She is incredibly passionate about teaching life through music with her students. She focuses on building a bond that is strong and full of trust with each and every one of her students. She always strives for her students to do their absolute best and allows them to grow at a great pace.
